December, 2022: This past week, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify. This not only clearly shows that this signature 6-minute rock opus is still delighting listeners nearly 50 years after its release, but it also led me to look into who the producer responsible for helping Queen achieve this legendary sound was… is.

Reading up on the Bohemian Rhapsody sessions, I became super curious to learn more about @RoyThomasBaker! roythomasbaker.com I was surprised to learn that not only has Baker been called “the 5th member of Queen”, but he also has a string of mind blowing hits included in his production credits.

Roy Thomas Baker (born 10 November 1946) began his career at Decca Records at the age of 14 and has since gone on to record some of the biggest names of the last 50 years.
